Hiking
Our hiking trails are marked according to the charter of the French Federation of Hiking. Discover an unspoilt natural heritage with our signposted hiking routes. Some of them allow you take you along the way to beautiful sites to visit.
Seventeen hiking trails are available.
The maps of these hiking trails can be downloaded for printing and are available at the tourist office.
Some of the trails are also suitable for mountain bikes rides. They can be identified by a pictogram on the green “Randonnées en Lyons Andelle” banner.
Picnic tables are available and are indicated on our walking itinerary leaflets.
Our ideas for walks and hikes combined with site visits
Hike and visit Mortemer Abbey
Combine a 4.5km walk in the Lyons Forest with a visit to Mortemer Abbey by taking the Mortemer Abbey Trail.
Picnicking and cycling in the abbey park are permitted.
Hike and visit the abbey of Notre-Dame de Fontaine-Guérard
Take the Bonnemare wood path and discover the abbey of Notre-Dame de Fontaine-Guérard, a medieval abbey on the banks of the river Andelle.
A few steps from this abbey, follow the banks of the river to see the impressive Levavasseur spinning mill, unique cathedral like factory in Europe !
Hike and visit the Lyons arboretum and/or Mortemer Abbey
Experienced hikers can organize a full day’s hike combined with a visit to Mortemer Abbey and the Lyons Arboretum, where large tables and two picnic shelters are available. If you choose the Fouillebroc trail (19.5 km), you can also take a break near the Sainte-Catherine fountain.
